I am certain the 14th Kansas Volunteer Cavalry contained a fair amount of Native Americans. I know that Major General Blunt, while at Fort Gibson, and was sending back Union men from Texas to join the 14th Kansas. Many Kansas regiments contained Native American soldiers.
