Yes, Lumir and I were close friends. We were both past presidents of the Civil War Roundtable of Kansas City and worked together on the Monett Battle of Westport Fund erecting markers around greater Kansas City. A good guy.
He went blind toward the last and I drove him around, etc.
He was a Major in WWII commanding tanks in North Africa against Rommell. We just lived a block apart in Prairie Village, KS. I have since moved to my home in Missouri.
