Re: Civil war Veterans Buried in Kansas

Hi John:
If you need help with the legacy you will leave the next generations I will help. My Husband also feels that this "obsession" is too much. he will be happy when his son is able to access all the answers he needs thanks to projects like this. So much is documented about the Civil War and the information that is available through GAR is sketching when you can find/access it. I would love to be a part of a project that documents those that gave and lived through the war. My questions are like this:
What happened when they got home to children that they had not see for months/years?
What was their state of mind after what they witnessed and lived through? How did it effect their relationships with their families?
What was their life after the war like in comparison to their lives before the war?
Where are they buried and have they been honored?
The sacrifice that the men of boths side still impacts the country that my mother came from? What are the lessons they would have shared with us about the war?
I could go on with more, but that pretty much is my quest in a nutshell. At my last count, I have found 6 civil war ancestors on the pension file, but only located 2 graves. Kudo to you. Let me know how to help. Send me a list of what you need and I can pick what I can do.

do i need to send my email address on the forum?
