Not sure if you'd be interested, or if you've already seen the material at KSHS in Topeka, but I've got a copy of the letter from BG Lyon dated 11 Jul 61 authorizing Wyllis Ransom to raise three companies of home guards. I also, from the KSM folder, have a letter from an R. Seeley(written in 1863) which presents an interesting light on the early months of the 6th Ks; why CPT Gower's company was transferred to the 4th; and about LT Bowman and his mustering of the 6th.
