Sir, I have a few quick questions related to my research on 6th Ks Cav which you may be able to direct me to answers with your research on Lane's Ks Bde.

1) Is there in existance an actual copy of the orders directing that the Kansas Regiments be reorganized in early 1862 (I believe the orders would've originated from General Hunter's HQ)? If so, could you direct me to their location?

2) CPT E.E. Harvey's Co'D'/5th Ks Rgt which became Co'B'/6th Ks in Mar 62. Since they originated in Appanoose Co., IA (in eastern Iowa) did they go to Leavenworth and join a Kansas Rgt because during Mexican War CPT Harvey served as a musician in same regiment as Senator Lane served (the 3rd Indiana)? I'm just curious why they ended up in Ks instead of Mo or Ill.

3) Do you or anyone else know where the section of mountain howitzers in 6th Ks Cav originated from?
