Co'G'/6th Ks Cav

I'm trying to determine the origins of Co'G'/6th Ks Cav-the Co'G' commanded by CPT N. Lucas. In 1861 there was the original Co'G' commanded by CPT A.W.J. Brown and in Dec 61 CPT Brown and 40 odd men were transferred to the 8th Ks Rgt. From the Ks AG report(which covers CPT Lucas' Co'G') many of the original enlistments date to late Oct-Nov 61. It appears some men were residents of St Louis, Mo; while the majority of the early members were residents of Leavenworth Co., KS. I was wondering if this company, if recognized as a full-fledged company, was originally part of another unit, then in Mar 62 at the reorg of the Ks regiments was assigned to the 6th Ks Cav.

Thank anyone and everyone for any help on the matter.
