I am connected through my GGreat Grandpa Thomas Corwin Tuttle, He entered in as Sargeant and was demoted to Private for some reason?? Can anyone tell me if the Capture at Harpers ferry and being re outfitted at Camp Douglas had anything to do with his demotion?? I have pictures of a reunion or reunions of the 15th Indiana Light Artillery Battery, Only one I can name is GGReat Grandpa Thomas Corwin Tuttle,His father was Thomas Conant Tuttle, he was Captain of a HomeGuard ,and they were Mustered in but saw no action,They were mustered in at Moragans raid,But only in for 1 month and Mustered out before seeing any action. I wonder Why?? Maybe the Capture of Morgan? Any comments or suggestions welcome, P.S. Thomas Conant Tuttle had a Nephew who came from Germany and his name was Frederick? I wonder?????
