I'm leaning toward baseball.

At first glance, I thought those might be striped fatigue uniforms the 7th Ill. Inf. wrote about getting in 1861 but seeing how the three soldiers served in 3 different regiments (and none were the 7th) that shot that idea down.

A close-up look would help but may not be possible. I don't see any fraternal type emblems but they might be there.

Something I considered: maybe if the ages were known. Perhaps they served as in their late teens/20s and this photograph showed slightly older fellows. That would show it was likely post-war.

Neat to see anyway.
