Matt,

Thanks for the info. Your response helps me in eliminating what the uniforms are not. Some think that they were early baseball uniforms but the indiviual sitting in the middle is wearing what appears to be military style boots that are a square toed style worn by soldiers during the war.They are also wearing what appears to be military style belt buckles.Could these be Zouave or artillery uniforms worn by many units early in the war? Whats puzzleing about the photo is the lack of insignia or badge or something symbolic indicating what they were about.Since all three are dressed exactly the same, seems to indecate they were a member of some organization, Military? political? civic? or fraternal?
