My regret is that Granpa Alex passed in 1908 and my mother was born in 1900 and when she was small, Grandpa would rock her. When I was small she would rock me. So you see that span is not that far from my CW ancestor to me. The regret is that I had no interest in the subject then and she never told me that her grandpa was in the Civil War so I could hear it from someone who knew him. I understand from my southern friends that it has been kept alive more than it has up north where I am. Kind of sad in some respects. Frank
