Re: HELP NEEDED to prove SIGNIFICANT MOH Discovery

Bart,
I would contact Jim Martin the webmaster of this site for help on that. I had him do my great grandfathers and they found things that no one esle has found. He works with Alan Pitts who you will see on this site and a fellow named Jon in DC. They together do great work. IF he was at Ft.s Henry and Donelson, I would think he was part of Flag Officer Footes command. If he was awarded the medals for service at that time, you might find something for the Official Reports of Flag Officer Foote covering that time period. It seems to me that most Medals of Honor of that period were awarded for the capture of enemy flags. Perhaps he was part of some ground operation and captured a flag or two. Seems like a lot of flags for one man but possible. I once read of several men being awared the honor for carring a cannon up to the fort and while holding it fired it into the fort. Bet that would rattle your teeth, but they did it.
