This is a timely thread for me. I ran across a 3 inch Ordnance Rifle modified to a salute gun. It is in front of the American Legion Post in Clearlake CA. Just the tube and stand. It looks like the Watervliet modification and stand (were there others?). Made by Phoenix Iron, 1862, #334, inspector TTSL. Now I need to send that in an email, and see if I can track the last post it was at. I suspect Ft. Ord or one of the bases that has been closed in the San Francisco Bay area.
