My paternal grandfather's grandfather was Llewellyn "Lemual" Frame from then VA now WV. He served the Confederacy. We don't know when or where he mustered in. We have records that he enlisted as a private. He also mustered in to the 14th Virginia Cavalry....

I received a message that he was taken POW 26 Nov 1862 in Greenbrier Co., (W) VA. ...supposedly at a place called Lewis' Mill)

He was confined on 29 Nov 1862 at Wheeling, (W) VA ...estimated date

Confined on 5 Dec 1862 in Camp Cairo, OH...estimated date.

Confined on 28 Feb 1863 in Cairo, IL... estimated date

SOURCE: The above information comes from The Virginia Regimental Series (1987)

I discovered a record some time ago where he and his brother Elliott Frame were caught in a Union Camp during roll call. I can't recall where that was. I suspect they went in to visit with family or friends and/or to get a but of supper...

I am very interested infinding hima nd bringing him home so to speak. He is supposed to be buried atOak Wood Cemetery in Chicago, IL under either Lemual Frame, Lemual M. Frame....or as L. Frame. Any inforation will be gladly accepted... Thanks for your help...
