Re: Ancestors fr Maryland in C.S. units...

Hello all,
A story that was handed down by my grandmother, who was born and raised in Charles and Pr. Georges Counties, Md, as were all my Edelen/Edelin, Middleton, Montgomery, and Berry ancestors, was about a Lt. "Tip" Edelen andthe particulars of his death (Her aunt had been engaged to "Tip" at the time of his death in 1864). Anyway, I have heard from other sources that his real name was this William Marshall Edelen y'all are talking about. But my grandmother said she thought his name had been William Henry Harrison Edelen. Does anyone know of this Lt."Tip" Edelen and his real name? And if either of you is curious about the particulars of his death and all, I will be glad to elaborate (he and his cousin Pvt Jesse R. Edelen, Co. "E", 1st Md Cav, were our looking for horses and a Union cav group got after them).
Thanks,
David Middleton Edelen II
Millbrook, Alabama
