Matt:
There has been some discussion on the Arkansas Board as to just what the correct title should be for this collection of information about the Price Raid, but everyone just refers to them as the Price Papers. The lady who copied them for us lived in D. C., but they were reproduced nd mailed to us by The Butler Center for Arkansas Studies in Little Rock, AR., for the small sum of $20. That address if you are interested is: Central Arkansas Library System,100 Rock Street, Little Rock, AR. 72201-1624.
This occured during the retreat after the battle of Mine Creek, and in the deposition that Mr. Davis gave to the court he says it occured on Oct. 26th, near the Kansas and Missouri line, not far from Carthage, Mo. I thought that was an interesting little account. Some southern soldier or group of soldiers may have lived high for awhile, but it couldn't have lasted long, because the end of the waar came soon and that money was worthless.

I'm durrently reading the book, "The Battle of Mine Creek", and I'm beginning to see how it could have hapened just as he described. Man, what a screwed up operation, from the southern viewpoint.
