My Gr Gr Grandfather Martin Van Buren PEARSALL was in the Kansas 5th, Co. E. I don't think he saw a lot of action and was not wounded and as far as I can find never applied for a pension. He is buried in Belmont Cemetery in Woodson Co., KS I have never seen the grave, but I have a poor snapshot of the headstone. I don't think there is anything on it that he was in the Civil War. Can you have markers placed at grave sites now? If so how do you go about doing that?
