Re: Chaplain Benjamin L. Read, 15th Kansas Cavalry

Yes, Rev. B.L. Read is a relaitve of mine. He was well know in the Trading Post area. And he was certainly one of the victims of the Massacre. I was honored twice, when they used to have the re-enactments at the Massacre site, to be the one that carried the Memorial Wreath from the top down into the ravine where the 'bodies' lay.

Also the Rev. line is traceable back to John Read of Rehoboth, Mass. who came from England in 1630. I go to Trading Post and the area quite often and know the Hairgrove name very well.
