hi, I have a question rather than a contribution for the site, which I just discovered. My grandfather's uncle, John Madison Williams of Bethel Township, served in the 10th Indiana Cavlary, Company B. He enlisted as a Private on 8 January 1864. Can you tell me if the unit was in place after the Civil War? I found a cemetery record that says John's son (also John), born in 1870, was in that unit, but I think the compiler of the records has the two men mixed up.
