Re: 2nd Indiana Cavalry unit history?

Greg:

I've given you some bum info on the 2nd Indiana Cavalry. When I posted my earlier message, I did it from emmory, which in my case can lead to disaster. It was not the 2nd, but the 5th Indiana Cavalry that is featured. For what it is worth, the book (phamplet, really) is by G. H. Russell, Fifth Indiana Cavalry in East Tennessee. Cincinnati: Times Steam Book and Job Printing Office, 1864, 32 pp. Its actually in the G. H. Russell File, Indiana State Library. Sorry for the wrong unit.

Having said that, I want to reiterate my comments on both the Indiana State Library and the Indiana Historical Society. Both very efficient, personnel who actually like to help you find something. The staff of each both go out of their way. It was a real joy to visit both facilities. Try their on-line indices to see if they have anything that may help you.
