I am the great great grand daughter of Col. James Monroe Smith. He was originally buried in East Haddam CT with family, but his son, purchased a family plot in Cedar Hill Cemetery and had James Monroe and his first wife moved to a family plot at Cedar Hill Cemetery Hartford, CT.
