In Response To: Pvt. Rasinous Yount 123rd Ind. ()

According to Dyer's Compendium of he war of the Rebellion, the 123rd Ind. Infantry arrived at Morehead City, N. C. on Feb. 24, 1865.
Yount certainly did not die on Feb. 15 at Fort Anderson but that is the date the fort surrendered/abandoned. It is Ft. Anderson not anderson, N. c. as that is too far removed from the coast.
Since he is listed as "died," the cause of death most likely is some non-battle cause. The regiment had been at the battle of Nashville and had been in some pretty nasty winter weather both prior and after the battle so that wear & tear could have worn him out.
