Patrick,

I'd be interested in knowing the source for the date of death of your ancestor for a couple of reasons. The Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Indiana in Volume VII on page 176 shows his date and place of death as Anderson, N.C. on February 26, 1865. Also in the same report in Volume III on page 239 the regiment embarked in Alexandria, Virginia on February 18, 1865 for their journey to North Carolina. Unfortunately, the arrival date of the regiment in North Carolina is not listed in the report. The report is not error free so that is why I wanted to find out about your source.
