Thank you. I had found this record also and that's why I am trying to find which unit he served in, or if he served at all. I would be surprised if he did not serve. Thomas was a Wagon maker from the 1850 census, through the 1860 and 1870 census' in Illinois but was listed as a farmer in 1880 in Iowa.
