Thomas Scott was living in Peoria County, Illinois in 1860 and on August 25, 1863, he enlisted according to an enlistment record found on Ancestry. The record, however, does not state what regiment he joined and I cannot find a service record for Thomas from Peoria. Can anyone tell me how to figure out what regiment he was in?
