I am trying to acquire any information available on Morris Wetzler, said to be an Australian American Civil War veteran. Any information whatsoever on his life, family, descendants and especially where he is buried. All I have is that Morris Wetzler was born in Germany. He was said to have arrived in Australia at some later date. His residence was listed as being in Rock Island, Illinois, where he enlisted as a Private into “K” Company, Illinois 37th Infantry. At one point he was transferred from “K” Company to “G” Company of the same regiment. There is no record of his muster out date.
