Sorry frank, I wasn't alerted that I had an inquiry into my post. I just this morning asnwered another inquiry and posted all the info I have.

I can't for the likes of me remember what Regt I found him in. I want to say the 3rd or the 6th CSA, not the 7th for sure. He was on the Cumberland Co census in 1850 but not in 1860 but the rest of the family was.

I just pulled the Alliegence date off me head since he enlisted in the 3rd Illinois in Oct 64, staying with my grandmothers story. She told me the story many times and it never changed even as she got close to 100. She never called him grandfather, it was always Sam.
