A little further information. In looking through the rosters at the back of the book, I see a Pvt. Patrick Burns of Co. A captured at Cape Girardeau. This must be the guy Alan is referring to. A word of caution, though, I have found at least one instance where there was an error concerning a casualty listed in the rosters, ie, a man 'severely wounded' at a battle which his service record and widow's pension application show he was never at, as he was discharged a year prior to that battle occurring.
