Re: A story about one of the dead at Camp Chase

On a trip up from Texas about 15 years ago I just happened to take a stop and tour the Wilkes Cemetery. A very impressive beautifull rural Tennessee Cemetery. The local Culleokan's sent me there. I was looking for Captain Moore,Co.B.9th Battalion Tennessee Cavalry. Back in those days before computers made hunting so much easier.

I have a question for you. From memory as this would take me hours to dig out. I had a GF that enlisted in the 128th.OVI. late 1863(Sgt.Waldo P Goff). Was this unit organized at Columbus and used as guards for a while at Camp Chase before being sent on to Johnson's Island? It is of interest as another GF,John Gresham,Chaplain 9th.Battalion Tennessee Cavalry,CSA.was captured on Nov.3,63 and held for a while at Camp Chase(Nov.23-Jan.9,1864) before being sent east for exchange. It would be interesting to determine if they were there at the same time.
