Tom:

According to the Compiled Military Service Records, Thomas N. Gardner was elected 1st Lieutenant 1 AUG 1861 at the organization of his company, and then elected Major of the 13th Georgia Infantry regiment on 24 AUG 1861. He was not re-elected on 8 MAY 1862 when the regiment was re-organized under the Confederate Conscription Act to serve for three years or the duration of the war and dropped from the rolls. The 13th Georgia Infantry came into being in August 1861. It was re-designated the 26th Georgia Infantry on 10 MAY 1862.

I don't see any Gettysburg connected service in this man's file. His name does not appear in the Fort Delaware Society database.
