I made a quick pass through the Fort Delaware Society database without finding any names that matched those presented here. I searched for "Blankinship" and "Blankenship".

Do you know which units (company and regiment) these two men served in? You need to get a copy of their Compiled Military Service Records which may help confirm at least some parts of the story. See http://history-sites.com/research/index.html at the top of this page.
