I am a novice wooden ship model builder as well. I am also looking for plans to the CSS Florida (There were actually 3 ships with this name. I am looking for the plans to the 700 ton screw gunboat built in Liverpool England) I have a good book called "The CSS Florida, her building and operations" written by Frank Lawrence Owsley Jr. In addition to a very interesting read it has a few drawings and sketches of the plans as well as various portions of the ship, but nothing terribly detailed.
