Jim/Terry

It was a search for more detail about Shenandoah with a possible view to a large scale model that led me into this board. Since my last post I did manage to fish up some more information about possible plans sources.

Taubman Plans Service apparently have plans for the ship. The company was recently bought from Mr Taubman who is in his nineties and plans will eventually be available from http://www.loyalhannadockyard.com/

I can't comment on the acuracy of the plans, but I would be tempted to check these against the drawings I mentioned earlier to verify the accuracy of the lines and sailplan.

From sketches and the dry dock photograph she appears to have four gunports cut in the bulwarks when she was converted. How the guns were arranged on deck is unclear, but I would be inclined to follow the general principles used in arming CSS Alabama and other ships of simial size and capabilities - heavy guns on the center line on pivot mounts and other guns carriage mounted
