My relative, 1st Lt Lee Roy Mayne was serving as ADJ to Cavalry BTN assigned to MMB, he was lost 8 April 1863 along with friend 1st Lt. Thompson W. McCune Infantry assigned to MMB HQ as asst to Adj of Infantry Brigade. As noted in MMB records, the BALTIC and JOHN RAINE were moored at Island 26 while taking on coal when both went overboard as they crossed over to meet each other. Orig morning Reports are in Vicksburg but only report Lt McCune as lost. What records do you have??? Winfield Mayne
