As far as I can tell the Drayton's were well known American opera singers and they were certainly in England between 1861 and 1869, probably in Liverpool. However I haven't found any connection with the Confederacy. If anything I would think, as he was born in Philadelphia, he was more of a Union man. Born in 1822 and died in New York in Auguast 1872. Check out the New York Times website for his obituary, issue dated 1 August 1872. You could try checking with Liverpool history sites, as you know at one point it was estimated that there were more Confederate flags flying in Liverpool than Richmond! Let me know if I can be of any further help, I will try and expand my research here and will let you know if I come across anything.
