Captain Percival Drayton

Re. 'Farragut's Captain'

1)I am nearing completion of my biography on Captain Percival Drayton USN. However, although I have sourced several images of the good captain, I can find no physical description ie. colour of hair , eyes etc. The surgeon who completed his death certificate failed to note his physical characteristics, sources anyone?.

2)I believe a portrait exists but according to the Library of Congress they have no knowledge of its whereabouts/current ownership.

3)I have come across one anecdotal source concerning a codicil made to his will on the day of his death that bequeathed $30.000 to his brother Thomas (a Confederate general) on the condition that Percival was interred in his native South Carolina which request was refused, although Thomas still accepted the money. I find this hard to believe but if anyone had any knowledge or first hand source material I would be very interested.

Any assistance with the above would be greatly appreciated

Kind regards
