Thank you! yes this information helps a lot. I am curious if the "MILL BOY" was by itself or if it had other boats, and a Navy escort at the time of of its demise. This will give me some ships to research and see if they were operating in the general vicinity of the "MILL BOY". I know on the Mississippi River, the Quartermaster vessels had tinclad escorts. I am researching to see if this was true of the White River operations and to determine what ships were involved.
