Re: Deck Log for Steamer St. Maurice?

Kerry, one thing is for sure the USS Steamer St. Maurice was a part of the West Gulf Blockade Squardon. If you enter "Steamer St. Maurice" using google and quotation marks, you will find serveral hits. Some of them are even from Georgia units like the 42nd Georgia Infantry. They were in the same boat (pardon the pun) as the soldier your trying to find. Some were sick and died on transport on the St. Maurice on her way to Mobile. One of the soldiers names was Cook but I forgot his particular unit. If you could find out where some of these soldiers were buried it may provide you with your answer? Of course nothing beats a deck log but since your NOT at NARA in DC., this may be an alternate route?
