St. Maurice - Help Terry F?

I was directed to this board from Dennis on the GA board and told to ask for Terry F.'s help. However, would appreciate help from anyone! Dennis suggested that I ask if the steamer the St. Maurice had a deck log that might shed some light on the transport of prisoners following the fall of Vickburg.

I am looking for some info on a POW, Warrenton Wigginton (various spellings), who was captured in a hospital at Vicksburg and then sent to Mobile Bay via New Orleans on the Steamer St. Maurice on July 30th, 1863. Jno. C. Merrill was the Surgeon in Charge. His widow's pension states that he died in transit to Mobile Bay. Some info I've received from the MS board is that he may be one of the unknowns in Confederate Rest at Point Clear. Any other ideas or more info about this soldier or men who might have been on this steamer is appreciated.

Thanks for any info!
