Hello,

I am the documentary producer Mrs. Laird mentioned. I've seen the image before, but I do not know who owns it or its original source. As you know, the Sisters of the Holy Cross at Notre Dame, Indiana, have an archive with some wonderful archivists who may be able to help locate more information about the image. In addition, the congregation has a nice collection of images and perhaps you could locate some additional images for use in your display. Best of luck and please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

My documentary mentioned the Sisters of the Holy Cross and their work aboard the Red Rover. The primary focus of the documentary was the story behind the establishment of the Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, Illinois during the Civil War. If you'd like to own a copy of the video, it is available through the cemetery preservation commission and may be ordered by phone: 618-748-9014. Quiet Acres: The Story of the Mound City National Cemetery costs $20.00 and the money goes to the preservation commission.

Sincerely,

Richard Kuenneke
