Linda- I'd recommend contacting the local historical societies in Springfield, Westfield and Sayreville,New Jersey as well as the New Jersey Historical Society. One place that I know were records was the Springfield Presbyterian Church on Morris Ave. I haven't been that far north for some years and do not know the status of the place other than a lot of the Old-Timers who had knowledge have left us. Using the internet for initial contacts to narrow down the search. Good luck, I wish I had more specific information for you, but I know where folks were and have given you a valid starting point.
