Hello all,
I have seen a photo of a Union monitor class ironclad of which the caption said it was on the Alabama River in Alabama.

I realize a number of ships were built by the South on the Alabama river such as the CSS Tennessee in Selma and the CSS Nashville in Montgomery, and sent down river to Mobile. But does anyone have any proof or info of any Union or Confederate Ironclads that were sent on any sorties or operations "up" that river? Just curious.
