According to the OR (II, 7, p. 407): ÒW.W. Helm, of Mississippi, claims to be a captain of rebel cavalry; captured May 6, 1863, near Mobile, on a blockade runner.Ó

The only reference I could find to a ship taken in this area on this date is the Eugenie, which was captured by the steamer R.R. Cuyler (Navy Records, I, XX, p.171)

I want to know if there are any other blockade runners captured on this date in the vicinity of Mobile.
