I still don't understand why the DICTIONARY OF AMERICAN NAVAL FIGHTING SHIPS, which is supposed to be the "bible" of United States (and Confederate States) Navy vessels, does not include a sketch of the USS MUSCOOTA. Even the "Additions & Errata" in a subsequent volume omit the name of this vessel.
The entry in the ORN volume gives only the statistical data, and no proper sketch of her service.
Silverstone's volume includes just a very basic sketch of her service.
