Re: Cobb's Battery

Hi Al

I have a John A Knox listed on my roster of Cobb's Battery.
In Ed Porter Thompson's History of the Orphan Brigade he lists a John Knox as being in Graves Battery and "died of disease." If he died in Georgia in 1864 he would probably have been in Cobb's Battery by then as Graves Battery was merged with Cobb's after they were exchanged after Ft Donelson. I would assume that this is the same man. It was not noted in his compiled service record when he died though.
