Does anyone know which Cobb the battery was named for? I've seen mention of R. L. Cobb, which could be Robert Livingston Cobb, or his nephew Robert Linah Cobb. But best I can figure out it was neither, but was Robert(son) H. Cobb, son of Robert Livingston. The father would have been a bit old by then, as he was born in 1804. Robert Linah did serve in the unit for a time, but wasn't made Capt. until some time later, by then in another unit. Anyone know?
