Have you ever run across the accounts of the 4th Iowa Cavalry using a two pounder breech loading cannon at the battle of Hill's Plantation, Mississippi on June 22, 1863? They captured this gun at Jackson in May and had it with them until the Confederate's recaptured it at Hill's Plantation. I can give you some information on this episode if you are interested.
