Re: John Oates & the 16th Wtsconsin Regiment

Hello Jenny. Sorry it toke so long to reply, but I switched to a new computer and somehow missed transfering this web site to it. According to my roster of the 16th WI Regiment (which had men from all over the state) Smuel C. Dean of Brunswick (I can't find Brunswick on my WI Atlas, so it may not exist any longer) enlisted in the "new" Company H of the 16th WI on Dec. 31, 1863. Died Aug. 9, 1864 in Chicago, IL of disease. I don't know if this is your Smuel Dean, but they do seem close. Any question you have or information or material you liked to give me, feel free to contact me at thestargazier@yahoo.com Thanks, Jim Oates
