There is a Book I just received and read (To See The Elephant: The Civil War Letters of John A. McKee 1861-1865) written by James R. James, published in 1998 by Leathers Publishing, 4500 College Blvd., Leawook, KS 66211 Phone 888-888-7696. This book included about 100 letters edited for spelling by James from McKee to his brother during the complete history of the 44th Ohio Vol Inf and it's transferral to the 8th Ohio Cav.
