Two pretty good books are Richard A. Baumgartner, ed., Yankee Tigers II: Civil War Field Correspondence from the Tiger Regiment of Ohio, Blue Acorn Press, 2004; and Glenn V. Longacre, et al., eds., To Battle for God and the Right: The Civil War Letterbooks of Emerson Opdycke, Univ. of Illinois Press, 2003. The original regimental is posted on the 125th Website, but I gan't get relevant parts to print.
My interest is in the 125th's role at Dandridge, Tenn 17 Jan 64. I am researching Hampton's Legion, which was a unit in Jenkins' S.C. Brigade, and squared off against Federal cavalry there, which was in turn supported by the 125th.
Does anyone know of newspaper or first hand accounts of members of the 125th involving this action?
