Drake, Oscar of East Saginaw, Mich., c.1839 born; Aug. 2, 1861 enlisted at East Saginaw, Mich. As pvt., Company D, 16th Mich. Infantry Rgt. July 2, 1863 killed at Gettysburg, Pa. while detailed to Battery D, 5th U. S. Artillery Rgt. and buried in Gettysburg, Pa. National Cemetery. Gravesite: B-31 US plot
1860 US Census engineer at Saginaw, Mich.
Both the 16th Mich. Infantry Rgt. and Battery D were atop Little Round Top at Gettysburg on the afternoon of July 2.

Drake, Orville of Birmingham, Mich. c.1841 born in Michigan; Aug. 9, 1862 enlisted at Pontiac, Mich. as pvt., Co. D, 22nd Mich. Infantry Rgt. Sept. 20, 1863 captured at Chickamauga, Ga. Feb. 3, 1864 died of disease as a prisoner of war at Andersonville, Ga. And buried at Andersonville National Cemetery, Grave No. 12574. Date of death listed as Feb. 3, 1865
